Server Update

Server was down from about 10 PM to about 8 AM today, this was due to an update of the system to install the latest available version of FreeBSD. In which some problems were encountered and server was unstable at first and then finally hit the bottom.

The problems that occured has now been attendended and I’ve spent about an hour merging in the new core files with the old ones. So, I haven’t run any tests but a testament to you being able to read this is that MySQL and Apache seems to be up and running. If you encounter any problems please do contact me ASAP so I can attend the issues.

Send a mail to admin@mez.nu and explain the problem if you encounter any. Know that nothing has been changed to your files or databases, however the issues that may come up is in the configuration files of the system.

For more info about the new dist, head to FreeBSD.org

Edit: As an added notice, I know that ventrilo is down. I just haven’t figured out how to start it yet. :)

Edit 2: I have discovered the first problem, anyone with any kind of account to the ssh connection has had their password reset or something. So, well here’s what the login screen says when i try to enter SU.

Aparantly, I don’t exist and I should go away.

Edit 3: It has now been solved and some of you might experience problems with accessing the ftp and so on. This is because I (in my stupidity) have written over all the pwd and group files. Do contact me at the mail adress with your old username and password and I’ll add them once again.
I’m not going to check for everything so just throw me a mail and we’ll sort it out. :)
