Cause and effect, pt 1

For you who read this blog you’ve probably heard the boat-metaphor, this post is to extend that theory. I’ve been thinking about it alot lately and you can really use this metaphor for life. Where ever you go, you’re going to leave a trail.

Cause and effect, all parts

Part 1
Prelude

So, lets begin with painting the picture. You’re now a boat, either you’re the USS Bigashell or your the little St. Notasbig. Doesn’t really matter who you are at this point but it will have effects later. The USS Bigashell is a ocean cruser, you have plenty of stores, alot of people onboard and you are going to cruse to alot of places where St. Notasbig only can dream of going. The St. Notasbig on the other hand, is shipped and commanded by one individual and often he’s alone. In rare cases a ship maid is brought along early on the journey, but not as company. So this is the two kind of boats we will be dealing with. Both of them are going to cross the ocean, we say that they sail out from New York to Southampton (yes, the reversed Titanic-route, you’ll get it later).

All we know when these boats starts their journey is that it’s going to come across. It will reach it’s final destination. That’s just a fact, and nothing can change it. But, there were once someone that said “The interesting part is not the goal, but the journey towards it.” and that is what it’s all about in the end.

Everyone knows how water acts. It’s not very kind and it’s kind of cold. Depending on where you’re standing offcourse. The water can be warm and friendly, it all depends on your standing. What declares your standing is your actions, and the course you set out on. So let’s say that we’re ready to set sail. The starting point is the same for both boats if you remember. The first thing we’re going to see is the USS Bigashell sets fire to his engines and makes a crumbling noise as it starts to plow the ocean. Everyone around is cheering and waving farewell. The St. Notasbig on the otherhand hoist the sail and calmly waits for the wind to begin and calmly swipe his way on the ocean.

Now, read behind the lines. And let’s see what you find out.

Next part will probably be alittle longer and i will explain more of their jurney. Stay tuned.

For some reason I’m thinking of the ‘tortoise and the hare’ story, but I’m not quite sure why just yet.

Might be interesting to see where this ends.
